Obituary of James J. Malloy

James J. Malloy of Stony Point passed away on May 7, 2018 after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. He was 77 years old.
James was born in the Bronx to Francis and Nora Malloy on Sept. 22, 1940. 
After graduating, James served in the U.S. Army for four years. Upon returning, he joined the NYPD where he proudly served and retired as a lieutenant after 36 years of dedicated service.
He is survived by his devoted wife Nora of nearly 52 years, and his daughters: Maureen, Christine and her husband Michael Coyle, and Regina and her husband Patrick McCann. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Julia and James Coyle, and Thomas and Patrick McCann. 
Visitation will be held at the T.J. McGowan Sons Funeral Home, 71 N. Central Highway, Garnerville, on Thursday, May 10th from 3-7 PM. His funeral mass will be held on Friday, May 11th at 9:30 AM at the Immaculate Conception Church, 26 John Street, Stony Point, with interment to follow at F.W. Loescher Veterans Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, friends who wish may donate in James’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association of Rockland.
