Obituary of Thomas McCabe

Thomas McCabe died on May 18,2014 surrounded by his family .Tom is survived by his wife Eileen, his children Daniela (Jim Barbaccia), Rosemary (Finn Jensen), Martin (Jenny) McCabe and Terry (Steve Zamprelli) and his ten grandchildren James, Nora, Claire, Annelise,Padraic, Lilly, Ben, Molly, Will and Kyla. He served as a catholic priest for ten years in Brooklyn. Tom continued his ministry to the poor while raising his children and teaching. He used his Ed.D in education to teach children with special needs. He was very involved in Helping Hands - a sheltering program in Rockland Co. and Jornaleros - serving day laborers. His entire life was spent serving others. The greatest joy of his life was playing with his children and grandchildren. The family will receive friends & relatives on Monday May 19th from 7-9 PM and Tuesday May 20th from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the TJ McGowan Sons Funeral Home 71. N. Central Highway Garnerville. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated for Tom on Weds. May 21st at 11 AM in St. Peters Church in Haverstraw with Interment to follow in St. Peters Cemetery.
