Obituary of Rosario LoPresti

Rosario J. "Sonny" LoPresti, of Stony Point, passed away on November 21, 2014. He was 82. Sonny was born on March 9, 1932 to Gaetano and Anna (Benedetta) LoPresti in Brooklyn, NY. Sonny grew up in Highland Falls, NY, and lived there until he met the love of his life, Eileen Bauer. They married at St. Joseph's Church in Grassy Point, NY on September 20, 1959, and lived together in Stony Point until her passing in 2004. Sonny worked as a printer at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point for over 30 years until his retirement in the mid-1980's. Sonny is survived by his loving daughter Carol Alsdorf, and by his cherished grandchildren: Amanda (Josh) Hernandez and Timothy Alsdorf, as well as his loving nieces and nephews. Sonny was preceded in death by his beloved wife Eileen (Bauer) LoPresti in 2004. Sonny's family will receive friends at T.J. McGOWAN SONS FUNERAL HOME, GARNERVILLE, on Monday, November 24, 2014, from 2-4 & 7-9pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Sonny on Tuesday, November 25 at 10am at the Immaculate Conception Church, Stony Point, with interment to follow at St. Peter's Cemetery, Haverstraw.
