Obituary of Catherine DePatto

Catherine DePatto, 97, of Garnerville passed away peacefully on March24, 2015. She was born on October 10, 1917, in Englewwod, NJ. to Thomas G. and Agnes (Merzaras) Melita. Catherine married the love of her life Anthony DePatto, on September 24, 1939, he predeceased her on March 14, 1997. Catherine loved baseball, especially watching her NY Yankees with her niece, Mary Slapp. She would also enjoy going to dinner with Mary at her favorite spot, Hogan's Diner, in Stony Point. Her biggest joy in life was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, Catherine is predeceased by her son, Thomas DePatto, who passed on November 13, 2003, and her 11 brothers & sisters. She is survived by her Loving daughter, Kathy Tedesco, and her husband, Al "Drew"; her adored 4 grandchildren; Michael (Gina) Tedesco, Kimberely (Peter) Thiell, Lewann (Greg) Tonna, Todd DePatto. She leaves behind 7 cherished great-grandchildren; Maria, Lana, Nicholas, Allison, Laura, Lindsey, and Faith. She is also survived are her brother, Anthony "Babe" Melita, her Daughter-in-law, Marylew DePatto, and her numerous nieces & nephews. The family will receive friends & relatives on Friday March 27th From 2- 4 & 7 - 9 PM at the T J McGowan & Sons Funeral Home 133 Broadway Haverstraw, NY 10927. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated for Catherine on Sat. March 28th at 10 AM in St. Peter's Church with interment to follow in St. Anthony's Cemetery in Nanuet.
