Obituary of Thomas E. Carter

Thomas Edward Carter of Stony Point, passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2015. The son of Joseph & Bridget Carter, he was born on July 28, 1938 in the Bronx. Tom attended St. Nicholas of Tolentine School. He is predeceased by his loving wife Barbara (Salerno) and his brother Jimmy. Tom is survived by his three loving children Tommy (Susan), Caroline (Lance) Kolb and Deborah (Frank) MacMillan; his cherished and adored grandchildren Thomas (TJ) and Samantha Carter, Luke MacMillan, Zachary Kolb, Jenna MacMillan, and Megan MacMillan. He also leaves behind his sister Jane Cawley. Tom spent over 40 years working as a Stone Derrickmen & Iron Rigger for Local 197. In 1969, he left the Bronx and moved his family Stony Point. Tom was the ultimate family man, always working to provide the best life possible for his wife and children. Tom's family will receive friends & relatives on Wednesday April 15th from 4 - 8 PM at the TJ McGowan Sons Funeral Home 71 N. Central Highway, Garnerville, NY. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated for Tom on Thursday April 16th at 10 AM at the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Stony Point. Interment will follow in St. Anthony's Cemetery in Nanuet.
