Obituary of Juana Escano

Juana Escano, of Haverstraw, died on June 29, 2015. She was 99. Born in the Dominican Republic, she married her beloved husband Luis at age 17. She was widowed at age 29. Juana was a loving mother who will be remembered for her sense of humor and her strong will. Juana is survived by her children: Juan, Corina, Rafael, and Luis M., and was a proud grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother. Juana was predeceased by her son Luis R., her husband, and her parents. Juana's family will receive friends at T.J. McGOWAN SONS FUNERAL HOME, HAVERSTRAW, on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Juana on Thursday, July 2 at 10 AM at St. Peter's Church, Haverstraw, with interment to follow at Mt. Repose Cemetery, In lieu of flowers, friends who wish may donate in Juana's memory to St. Peter's Church, Haverstraw.
