Obituary of John Sanzo

John Sanzo, a longtime resident of Stony Point, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2015, surrounded by his family. John was 94 years old. John was a WW II Veteran, served in the Army Air Corps as a gunner and radio man on B 17's. John was a retired national wholesale jewelry salesman. He was born and raised in Bronx, NY. John is survived by his wife Nicholina (Vasco) and 3 children: Camille Colameo (Thomas), Marietta Sanzo Chromey (Ron), and Frank Sanzo (Eva). On July 8, John and Lena would have celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren: Donna Scott, Lisa Murray, Annmarie Gianni, Ron Martirano, Andrew Chromey, Nicole Amoresano, Philip Sanzo, and Frank Sanzo. There are also 8 great-grandchildren: Brian, Jenna, Justin, Brianna, Hudson, Basil, Anna, and Lilyana. He is also survived by his sister Ann Tortorella of Long Island, NY. Visitation is on Monday, July 6th, from 2-4 pm and 7 -9pm at T. J. McGowan Sons Funeral Home, 71 N. Central Highway, Garnervillle, NY. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM on Tuesday, July 7 at the Immaculate Conception Church, 26 John Street, Stony Point, NY. Burial will be at Frederick Loescher Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 220 Brick Church Road, Spring Valley, NY. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Wounded Warriors Project.
