Obituary of Mike Schiavone

Mike Schiavone, 89, of Garnerville passed away peacefully with his family by his side on July 15, 2015. He was born on June 11, 1926 In Italy to Giuseppe & Lavinia (Botticelli) Schiavone. He married the love of his life Lina Giuttari in 1958 in St Peters Church in Haverstraw. Mike worked as a Mason for Local 754 for 22 years and at Letchworth Village in their Dept. of Transportation for 14 Years. He was a member of the Italian American Social Club in West Haverstraw as well as the Haverstraw, West Haverstraw, Spring Valley, Blauvelt, Bardonia and Chestnut Ridge Senior Citizens Clubs. Mike was an avid hunter and enjoyed playing poker. He was predeceased by his 4 siblings and is survived by his loving wife Lina of Garnerville, his beloved daughters Lavinia Schiavone of Thiells, Maria Santa Schiavone of Garnerville, Josephine Schiavone of Garnerville, his adored and cherished grandchildren Kristine Casciari, Joseph (Casandra) Casciari, and Amanda Ward. Also surviving are his numerous caring Nieces & Nephews. The family will receive friends and relatives on Saturday July 18th and Sunday July 19th from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the TJ McGowan Sons Funeral Home 71 N. Central Highway Garnerville, NY. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated for Mike on Monday July 20th at 10 AM in St. Peters Church in Haverstraw with interment to follow in St. Peters Cemetery.
