Obituary of Gloria J Grune

Gloria Grune of Stony Point passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on Wednesday, July 22,2015 at the age of 84. She was born on June 19, 1931 in Middleboro, Massachusetts to John and Frances Kunces Nichols. She graduated from the College of New Rochelle where she met her Husband Harold K. Grune. They were married on January 23, 1954. Harold died on November 7, 2007. Gloria loved spending summers in Cape May with her family and friends. She was an active parishioner at St. Gregory Barbarigo Church. She loved cooking, crocheting and reading. She is survived by her 12 children, Katherine(Chris) Breuninger Margaret (Glen) Rickards, Anne (Jerry) Krause, Maureen (Kevin) Horgan, Mary (John) Sheridan, Paul (Shelly) Grune, Tom (Tammy) Grune, Susan (Mike)Stritmater, Patrick (Sandy) Grune, Michael (Gina) Grune, Laura Grune, and Jean (Ed) Barlage. She is also survived by 32 grandchildren and 18 great- grandchildren, her sister-in-law, Barbara Nichols and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, John "Tiger" Nichols. Visitation will be at T.J. McGowan Sons Funeral Home 71 N. Central Highway Garnerville, NY on Saturday July 25 from 7-9 and Sunday July 26 from 2-4 and 7-9 . A mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Gregory Barbarigo Church 21 Cinder Road in Garnerville on Monday July 27th at 10 AM with interment to follow in the F. Loescher Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Birthright of Rockland County or the Marian Shrine in Stony Point.
