Obituary of Anthony Dombrowski

Anthony S. Dombrowski, Age 87, a resident of Garnerville, passed away peacefully at home in his sleep on Friday, July 24, 2015. Tony was born on October 12, 1927 (the same day as his wife Julia) in Goshen, NY and grew up in "the black dirt" of Orange County. He then came to work at Letchworth Village where he worked until retirement age. He was also the owner of D&B Drywall Corp. After retirement he worked in Security at Good Samaritan Hospital, Suffern. Julia and Tony celebrated 67 years of marriage on July 18th. They were married in St. Peters Church, Haverstraw in 1948.Tony was a life member and former Captain of SW Johnson Fire Co. #1 of Garnerville. Surviving are his beloved wife Julia (Morano), daughter Pamela Ehlers of Stony Point, cherished grandsons Michael (Angie) Ehlers of Stony Point, Eric (Dawne) Ehlers of Livingston Manor, John Patrick Fay (Kristy) of Haverstraw & Jared Fay of Garnerville. Great grandson Eric Keith Ehlers (mother Dawn Matthews) of Chester, great granddaughter Annabelle Rose Ehlers of Stony Point and Austin and Ashley Desimone of Haverstraw. He loved and cherished you all. He is also survived by his brother Stanley Dombrowski (Allta) of Middletown and son-in-law John Fay of Garnerville. Daughter Brenda Jeanne Fay predeceased him in 2014 and a great grandson Braylon Patrick fay in 2014, as did son-in-law George "Buddy" Ehlers in 2013. Also predeceased are his parents Stanley Dombrowski and Pauline (Brink)Grusz, brothers Chester, Frank, Fred, Edward and sisters Rose Krawcyk and Celia Piekarski. The family will receive visitors Monday, July 27th at TJ McGowan Sons Funeral Home, 71 N. Central Highway Garnerville, NY from 3 pm - 8 pm. Mass of Christian burial will be Tuesday, July 28th at 10 am, St. Peters Church, Haverstraw. Burial to follow at St. Peters Cemetery.
