Obituary of Mary C. Owens

Mary C. Owens, nee Comber, of Garnerville, passed away surrounded by her loving family on August 29, 2015. She was 85. Mary was born in the Bronx, NY. She attended Cathedral High School. She married her late husband, John F. Owens, in 1955 in NYC. They moved to Garnerville where they raised their seven children. Mary worked for the Suffern School District for many years, and was an active member of the local senior citizens' group as well as the Red Hat Society. Mary is survived by her loving children: Thomas (Joanne), Kathy (Jerry) Martinez, Nancy (Bill) Dachille, Maryann (Frank) Conti, John (Gigi), Claire, and Robert (JoAnne). She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren: Billy (Jen) and Kristin Martinez, Jessica and Nicole Conti, Natalie and Theresa Owens, Nicholas, Christie and Julianne Dachille, Sean and Patrick Owens, Kristina, Dan, Joe and Emma Owens, her great-grandchildren Henry and Jacob Martinez, as well as many in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, John, her sisters Kathleen and Rita, and her granddaughter Jaclyn Dachille. Visitation will be held on Monday, Aug. 31, 2015 at T.J. McGOWAN SONS FUNERAL HOME, 71 N. Central Hwy, GARNERVILLE from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tues., Sept. 1 at 10 AM at St. Gregory Barbarigo Church in Garnerville, with interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY.
