Obituary of Jessie L. Martorano

Jessie L. Martorano, 94, of Garnerville, NY passed away peacefully with her family by her side on September 25, 2015. She was born on May 3, 1921 in Camden, NJ to Michael and Mary (Mucci) Mosso. Jessie married the love of her life, Philip Martorano on May 19, 1946, he predeceased her in 1971. Jessie worked for Columbia Record Club for 15 years and later worked for J P Morgan in New York City for 15 years. She was a volunteer at Helen Hayes Hospital for 12 years and was a member of the Haverstraw Seniors Club, but what she enjoyed the most was her grand and great grandchildren. Besides her husband she is also predeceased by her 4 sisters, Mickey, Angie, Lou and Mary and sister-in-law Catherine Clemente. She is survived by loving daughter Mary and her husband Anthony Montemarano of Garnerville, her adored grandchildren Michelle (Rich) Rogers, Philip (Laura), Anthony (Colleen), her cherished great-grandchildren Christian, Matthew, Grace, Anthony, Nicholas, Philip, Isabella and Lucas. Also surviving is her caring sister Jenny Tamburello of Fort Pierce, FL and sister-in-law Ida D'Angelo of N. Palm Beach FL, as well as many cherished nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends and family on September 28, 2015 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the TJ McGowan Sons Funeral Home 71 N. Central Highway Garnerville, NY. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated for Jessie on September 29, 2015 at 10 AM at Immaculate Conception Church in Stony Point with Interment to follow in the Long Island National Cemetery in Farmingdale, NY. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made in Jessie's memory to United Hospice of Rockland, 11 Stokum Lane, New City, NY 10956.
