Obituary of Theodore W Podest

Theodore W. Podest, 74, of Pomona, NY passed away on October 4, 2015. He was born on October 31, 1940 in the Bronx to Theodore H. and Elizabeth (McComb) Podest. Theodore served his country proudly during the Korean conflict. He worked for the NY Daily News as a machinist for over 45 years, retiring on August 18, 2010. Ted also was a member of the American Legion. He also coached the North Rockland Pop Warner, and the Haverstraw little League. Ted enjoyed spending time in his country home in Monticello as well as attending his grandchildren's sporting events. Besides his parents he is predeceased by his sister Lillian Podest (2003). Ted is survived by his loving children Ted and his wife MaryPat Podest of Washington TWP, NJ, Brian and his wife Jeannie Podest of Washington TWP, NJ, Jean Daros and her husband Greg of Hartsdale, NY, Helene Branti and her husband Bill of Stony Point, NY and his adored and cherished grandchildren Christian, Kerry, Julia, Lauren, Brendan, Claire, Molly, Aedan, Lucy and Peter. The family will receive friends & relatives on Wednesday Oct 7th From 4 - 8 PM at the TJ McGowan Sons Funeral Home 71 N. Central Highway Garnerville, NY (845) 429 - 2130. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Theodore on Thursday Oct 8th at 10 AM in St. Gregory Barbarigo Church in Garnerville with interment to follow in Mt Repose Cemetery in Haverstraw.
