Obituary of Marie A Babcock

Marie A Babcock, 83, of Stony Point, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2016. She was born on January 19, 1932 in Suffern to Joseph and Alice (Smith) Bednar, she was a lifelong Rockland Resident. Marie married the love of her love life John S. Babcock on May 31, 1953 in St. Peters Church in Haverstraw. She worked for a while as a beautician at Steve's Beauty Shop in Nyack before leaving work to be a house wife and to raise and care for her children. Marie loved cooking, Baking and reading cook books. She is survived by her loving husband John of Stony Point, her beloved children Stephen (JoAnn) of Stony Point, Robert of Stony Point, Gary (Shirley) of Fla, Cathy of Highland Falls, Terrance of Stony Point, her adored grandchildren Anna, Lisa, Jennifer, Stacy, Gary, Nicole and Christopher, her cherished great grandchildren Alexander, Callisto, Stryder, Karlee and Dalton. Also surviving are her sisters Joan Cavallo formerly Haverstraw and Elenor Hydok of Fla., and her 5 niece's and 1 nephew. The family will receive friends & relative on Tues Jan 5th from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 PM at the T J McGowan Sons Funeral Home 71 N. Central Highway Garnerville, NY. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated for Marie on Weds Jan 6th at 10 AM in St. Peters Church with interment to follow in St. Peters Cemetery in Haverstraw
