Obituary of Rita Famular

Rita Famular entered into eternal life on March 31, 2016. She was born on March 12, 1936 in Naples Italy. Later she married Anthony Famular. Rita is survived by her Son Walt Famular, his wife Cathleen, Daughter Debbie Stuhlweissenberg and husband Andrew her Brother Walt Florio and his wife Marie of PA, Brother Nick Florio of Brooklyn NY, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, five grandchildren, in-laws, neighbors and friends. She was a devoted mother and homemaker, who loved her family. She enjoyed cooking for family, friends and company, traveling to Italy and talking to everyone including strangers. She was a hairdresser and also volunteered at Nyack hospital and local schools. She was a parishioner at Sacred Heart Church in Tappan and then St. Catherine's church in Blauvelt.. She was loved and will be remembered by all who knew her. The family will receive relatives & friends at the TJ McGowan Sons Funeral Home 71 N. Central Highway, Garnerville, NY on Wednesday, April 6th from 10AM - 1:30PM PM. There will be a Catholic Mass for Rita on Wednesday, April 6th at 2PM in the Marian Shrine, Stony Point NY. Private cremation to follow and her remains to be returned to her birth home in Naples Italy. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Rita's memory to the Marian Shrine (Camp Don Bosco) at 174 Filors Lane, Stony Point, NY 10980, or to St Jude Children's Research Hospital.
