Obituary of Carmen Luz de Jesus Cruz Rodriguez

Carmen Luz de Jesus Cruz Rodriguez 79 of Haverstraw NY passed away peacefully in the presence of her loving family on July 9th. Carmen was born in Bayamón Puerto Rico to Maria Cruz & Jesus de Jesus later she settled in Haverstraw NY where she created a loving home and raised eight children mostly on her own. She is predeceased by her parents Maria Cruz & Jesus de Jesus, Sons Jaime & Alfredo and Grandson John Anthony Miranda. Carmen cared for her garden and flowers with the same love and attention she nurtured her children, she loved taking long walks, dancing, cooking and buying little knick knacks. Her smile and devotion to her family will be deeply missed. Her practical jokes and polka dot nail parties will always be remembered and her favorite word of expression "Endito" will forever live in our memory. Carmen is survived by Children David Rodriguez, Juan A. Miranda (Lisa), Carmen Iris Fernandez (Juan A), Carmen Gloria Fernandez (Miguel), Olga Miranda & Juan R. Miranda (Debra). Grandchildren; Amber, Itamarie, Tyler, Louie lee, Yanira, Anthony, Miguelito, Alessandra, Amanda, Alexander, Alina, Brianna, Brittney, Five Great Grandchildren, Brother Pablo de Jesus and Lydia Chinea. Family will be receiving friends and relatives at the TJ McGowan sons funeral home 133 Broadway Haverstraw NY on Thursday July 14th between the hours of 5pm and 9pm Carmen will be laid to rest on Friday July 15th at Mount Repose Cemetery in Haverstraw NY
