Obituary of William G Smith

William G. Smith of Stony Point NY passed away peacefully in the presence of his loving family on July 30th 2016 William was born in Bayridge Brooklyn New York to Parents William & Harriet Smith before leaving Brooklyn he met Judith Barrett whom captivated his life and in 1964 She became his wife. Settling in Stony Point with Judith (Irish), William was a member of the Elks, the Stony Point Jaycees, North Rockland Rotary Club, Knights of Columbus and Coached the Stony Point Little League. Anyone who knew Bill knew of his passion and dedication for his beloved Green Bay Packers & NY Yankees, Bill enjoyed playing golf and completing crossword puzzles while sitting on his back deck. William enjoyed traveling to Florida during the New York winters and his family meant the world to him, throughout the years beginning with his wife "Irish" everyone of his children & Grandchildren received a personalized handwritten poem dedicated to them and only them as a token of his love. William is predeceased by his parents and brother Dennis. He is survived by loving wife Judith M. Smith (Irish) children Lori Smith, William Smith, Kevin Smith (Tracy), Kathleen Cole (Gerard), Kelly Matone (Michael) Grandchildren Daniel, Amanda, Courtney, Jacqueline, Ciara, Bennett, Billy, Hailey, Addison, Colin, Peyton, Makenna. Siblings Tisha Gallagher, Richard Smith, Terry Smith and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services are under the care of TJ McGowan Sons Funeral Home 71N Central Highway Garnerville NY 10923 Family will be receiving friends and relatives on Monday August 1st 2016 from 6pm till 9pm and Tuesday August 2nd 2016 from 3pm till 8pm A mass of Christian burial will be held at The Immaculate Conception Church 26 John St Stony Point NY on Wednesday August 3rd 2016 at 10am. Immediately following the mass William will be laid to rest at Saint Peters Cemetery in Haverstraw NY. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to the United Hospice of Rockland
