Obituary of Judith Brautman

Judith Manikoff Brautman, age 86, passed away on September 8th 2016 She was born October 9, 1929 to the late Saul and Sarah Manikoff in Brooklyn, NY. Judy graduated from Samuel Tilden High School. Judy received an associates in arts Degree in 1980 from Rockland Community College; graduated in 1984 with a Bachelor of Art Degree in American international Studies from Ramapo College and continued on to obtain her Master of Art Degree in Humanities in 1990 from Manhattanville College in Purchase, NY. On March 3, 1951 she married Morton Brautman. Morty passed away on July 30, 1991. In 1960 the family moved from Brooklyn to West Nyack, NY to enjoy the country life. Judy was a homemaker while her children were growing up. She took care of them tending to all their needs. One of Judy's greatest joys was travelling in Europe. She had the opportunity many times with Morty on his business trips. She was a very independent person and pursued this joy on her own after his death. She particularly loved Ireland and Italy. Judy was a lover of academia. She enjoyed reading history, Particularly about Italian artists and anything regarding Greece. She was a lover of old movies. In 1996, Judy moved to Naples, Florida where she lived until July 2015 when she moved to Pompton Plains, NJ. Judy loved the warm Florida weather, the beach and her social life. She volunteered for many years at the Naples Community Hospital as a greeter in the Emergency Room. She is survived by her children: Joseph Brautman and wife, Karen, of Lewiston, NY; Nancy DeMarco and husband, Bob, Of Katy, TX; Debby Brechbiel and husband, Dan of Garnerville, NY; Daniel Brautman and wife, Christine of West Nyack, NY; and all her wonderful grandchildren who she loved very much: Richard Brautman (Wife Emily), Melissa Brautman Jackson (spouse Jamie), Taryn Brechbiel, Patrick DeMarco, Brian DeMarco, Lindsey Brechbiel, Andrew DeMarco, Kerry Brechbiel, and Marisel Brautman. Funeral Arrangements are under the care of T.J McGowan Sons Funeral 71N Central Highway Garnerville NY 10923. The Family will be receiving friends and relatives on Sunday September 11th 2016 from 9am till 10am at the funeral home. Funeral Services and Kaddish will take place at Sharon Gardens Cemetery in Valhalla NY at 11am Where she will lay at peace next to Morty.
