Obituary of Minerva Minnie Rodriguez

Minerva (Minnie) Rodriguez passed away on September 9th 2016 in the presence of her loving family. Minerva was born and raised in Brooklyn New York to the late and loving parents Ramon and Carmen Ruiz. In 1952, she married the love of her life Raphael Rodriguez. They fell in love shortly after being set up on a blind date by a very good friend. In 1966, they settled in Haverstraw, Village on the Green where they built a home and raised their beautiful family. After 30 years of working as a staffing coordinator at Good Samaritan Hospital she retired in 1999. Minerva's passion and dedication was devoted to the happiness of her family. She was always filled with joy and happiness whenever her grandchildren were in her presence. She served as a past grand regent of the Latin American Catholic Daughters of America, the past treasurer of the Ladies Lions Club and a member of the Haverstraw and Garnerville senior citizens club. Minerva was pre-deceased by her loving husband Ralph and her sons, Douglas and David Rodriguez. She is survived by her son Ralph and Maria Rodriguez of Hillsborough New Jersey, her daughter Brenda and Robert Millet of Stony point New York, her sisters, Nilsa McNeil of Ocala Florida, Ada Pieve of Arizona, brother Enrique Enriquez of Miami Florida, daughter in laws Theresa Rodriguez and Maria Rodriguez, son-in-law Robert Millett, grandchildren Elisa, Jessica, Alex, Robert, Stephanie, John and great granddaughter Lily. Funeral arrangements are under the care of TJ McGowan Sons Funeral home 71N Central Highway, Garnerville, New York 10923. The family will be receiving friends and relatives on Monday, September 12, 2016 between the hours of 2 PM to 5 PM and 7 PM to 9 PM. A mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at 10 AM. Minerva will be laid to rest immediately following the mass at Saint Peter's cemetery at Haverstraw New York.
