Obituary of Sgt. James Morrison

Sgt. James Morrison, 28, of Ft. Carson, Colorado passed away on Oct 19, 2016. He was born on March 11, 1988 in Suffern, NY to Richard & Sharon Morrison. James was serving his country proudly when he passed away. He was a member of the U.S ARMY, Hillcrest Fire Dept. and the Rockland Co. Volunteer Fireman's Association. He was a gamer who loved being on his computer. He also enjoyed firefighting. He is predeceased by his grandparents Joseph & Camille Morrison, his aunt Bonnie Kelly, and his mother-in-law Cynthia DePalma. James is survived by his loving parents Richard & Sharon Morrison of Wesley Hills, his sister Ashlee Morrison of Wesley Hills, his beloved wife Christine DePalma of Ft. Carson, Colorado, his adored & cherished daughter Emma Morrison of Ft. Carson, Colorado, his caring father-in-law Joseph DePalma, along with many aunts, uncles, nieces & nephews. The family will receive friends on Sat. Oct. 29th from 2-5 & 7-9 PM at the TJ McGowan Sons Funeral Home, 71 N. Central Highway, Garnerville, NY. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, Oct. 30th at 12 PM at the F. W. Loescher Veterans' Cemetery in New Hempstead, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in James's memory to either the Hillcrest Fire Dept. or to the Rockland County Purple Heart Assoc., 10 Station Rd, Pomona, NY 10970.
