Obituary of Catherine M. Farewell

Catherine M. Farewell, 88 of Garnerville, NY, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on October 30, 2016. She was born on November 11, 1927 in the Bronx to John & Catherine (Cunningham) Gormley. She married the love of her life Howard Farewell on October 30, 1948 at Holy Cross Church, Bronx, NY. She was a charter & founding member of St. Gregory Barbarigo Church in Garnerville. Catherine was a founding member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the David B. Roche Fire Dept. She is predeceased by her loving husband of 67 years Howard, her sisters Helen, Claire, Peggy and Gertrude. Catherine is survived by her loving children Steven (Denise) of Trumbull, CT, Howard (Kim) of Pomona, Chris (Maria Caseres) of Garnerville, Craig of Olathe, KS, her cherished & loving grandchildren Howard, Nikki, Julianne, Kyle, Kelly, Brian, Christopher, Kevin, Matthew, Catherine and James as well as numerous nieces & nephews. The family will receive friends & family on Wed Nov. 2rd from 4- 8 PM at the TJ McGowan Sons Funeral Home 71 N. Central Highway Garnerville, NY. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated for Catherine on Thurs Nov. 3rd in St Gregory Barbarigo Church at 10 AM. A private cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Catherine's memory to either the David B. Roche Fire Dept. or St. Gregory's Church .
