Obituary of Rosemary Smith

Loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother of the Meade/Smith family passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 19, 2016. Rosemary was born and raised in the Inwood section of NYC and resided in Rockland for more than 50 years. She was preceded in death by husbands Arthur J. Meade and F Wilson Smith, sister Patricia Hahn and parents Michael and Rose Kiely. Rosemary was a giving member of her community as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Gregory Barbarigo Church as well as a member of their Rosary Society, RCIA, and both their Bible Study and Bereavement Groups. She was also a charter member of the Ladies' David B. Roche Fire company and volunteered for 20 years at St. Peter's in their food pantry and kitchen. She had a kind and open heart and an open door for all. She is survived by her children Timothy Meade, Michael Meade, Mary Ellen (William) Baker, Cathleen (Michael) Karr and step-children Lorraine (Peter) Matone, and Jeanine (Richard) Pickert and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren and her sisters Margaret Cusack and Elizabeth (Roy) Pedersen.
