Obituary of Thomas William Cacioppo

Thomas William Cacioppo passed away November 20, 2016 at the age of 60. Tom had many interests and talents, from an early age he excelled in sports and music. In elementary school he took music lessons on the clarinet and ended up playing in the High School All County Band. He was a self taught electric bass player and played with several bands. Tom held numerous patents that enabled bass guitar players of all levels to better position their hand on the guitar "Tom Tone Thumb Wing." He also excelled in sports. In middle school he played on the Track & Soccer teams and remained undefeated as a wrestler. Tom continued Track & Field at NRHS for 4 yrs. As a freshman he played Varsity Track. In the Section 9 track meet in his senior year he came in first in the long jump with a leap of 23'-6" as well as first in high jump of 6'-4." Tom held 22 Gold Metals, 12 Silver and 3 Bronze Metals for Track. Tom enjoyed dancing, boating, billiards and travel. Tom worked along with his father and brothers at Carl R. Cacioppo Electric as well as a retired Journeyman with LU 363 IBEW. Tom had a heart of gold, shared everything he had, and never had a harsh word to say about anyone. Later in life Tom enjoyed the company of his brother Joe; they spent their time taking long rides and having conversations over a good cup of coffee. Tom was survived by his brothers and sisters, Joseph, Carl Jr. Connie, Kathleen & Vincent as well as many beloved aunts, uncles and cousins. He will be dearly missed. Visiting hours will be on Friday, November 25, 2016 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at T.J. McGowan Sons Funeral Home, Haverstraw, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, November 26 at 10AM at St. Peters Church, Haverstraw, with burial to follow at St. Peter's Cemetery, Haverstraw.
