Obituary of Maria C. Garigali

Maria C. Garigali, of Thiells, NY (formerly of the Bronx), passed away on December 7, 2016. Maria was born on August 21, 1922 in Limina, Italy to Francesco and Carmela Correnti. Maria married the love of her life Sebastiano in Italy in 1945. They immigrated to the US with their children in 1961. Maria's husband predeceased her in 1974. Maria was a seamstress and homemaker. She loved cooking, baking cookies and making her famous lasagna. Her children and grandchildren were her whole world. Besides her parents and husband, Maria is predeceased by her brother Antonio Correnti. She is survived by her five loving children: Josephine Savino of Stony Point, Mary (Franco) Niosi of Stony Point, Dr. Frank (Sandra) Garigali of Stony Point , Theresa (Anthony) Torres of Thiells, Donna (Anthony) Imperato of Thiells, and her cherished grandchildren: Benny, Frank, Lisa, Anthony, Michael, Jessica, Nicholas, Anthony, Sabrina and Brittany, and her adored great-grandchildren: Taylor, Jake, Priya and Sebastian. Maria's family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, December 9, 2016 from 3-5 & 7-9 PM at T.J. McGOWAN SONS FUNERAL HOME, 71 N. Central Highway, GARNERVILLE, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Maria on Saturday, December 10 at 10 AM at St. Gregory Barbarigo Church, Garnerville, with entombment to follow at Ferncliff Mausoleum in Harstdale, NY. In lieu of flowers, friends who wish may donate in Maria's memory to St. Jude Childrens' Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
