Obituary of Mary Lungaro

Mary J Lungaro 86 passed away peacefully at home on December 30th in the presence of her loving family. Born in Akron OH to parents Leonard & Giulia Lungaro, Mary was an identical twin. Shortly after Mary's mother passed away, at the young age of 24, the twins went to live with their Grandparents whom loved and raised them. Mary was a 3rd degree Order Carmelite, a devout Catholic, often playing the organ during mass at St Gregory's Barbarigo RC Church and always attended the outdoor mass at the Marian Shrine with her beloved twin sister. Mary and Martha were always together and rarely did they separate from each other. Everyone fondly called them the "Marino twins". If not in church or with family, Mary was out saving all the animals one at a time, like the Chipmunk she carried across the yard in order to save it from a notorious cat. Mary is predeceased by her Grandparents Leo & Mary Marino, her Parents Leonard & Giulia, Brother Charles Lungaro, Aunts Catherine Maiorano and Ann Sarno, and Uncle Joseph Marino. She is Survived by; Her loving twin sister Martha McGill, Nephew James(Kelly) McGill, Niece Julia(Angelo) Schembari, Uncle Leo(Ann) Marino, Stepmother Anna Lungaro, Half-sisters Annette Hutchings and Cathy(Bob) Isaacson, Grand nieces and nephews; Leah, Curtis, Troy, James, Devin, Grace and Great grand nieces and nephews; Thomas, Madelyn and Kora. Also numerous cousins. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Hermits of St. Mary of Carmel 33005 Stinson Ridge Road Houston MN 55943. Funeral arrangements are under the care of the TJ McGowan Sons Funeral Home 71 N. Central Highway, Garnerville, NY 10923 Family will be receiving relatives and friends on Tuesday January 3rd between the hours of 2 PM and 4 PM and 7 PM and 9 PM. A mass of Christian burial and will be held at Saint Gregory's Barbarigo RC Church in Garnerville, New York on Wednesday, January 4th at 10 AM. Immediately following the mass, Mary will be laid to rest at Saint Peter's Cemetery in Haverstraw New York.
