Obituary of Douglas Casscles

Douglas "Doug" Casscles, 61, of Stony Point, passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2017. Doug graduated from North Rockland High School in 1975. He worked as a heavy equipment operator- 14 years of that time was with Local 825 Operating Engineers. After retiring, he enjoyed hunting, boating, fishing, woodworking and helping his family whenever he could. A loving and devoted family man, Doug is survived by his wife Joyce; by his three sons: Douglas Jr. of Salisbury Mills, and Tim and Kevin of Garnerville; his stepdaughter Joy Sherwood and her husband Scott; his father Douglas of Stony Point; his sister Natalie Tacito of Kingston; his three grandchildren: Paige, Daphne and Evan of New Windsor, NY; his sister-in-law Marsha Hurley of Stony Point, as well as many cousins, nieces, a nephew, great-nieces and nephews, as well as countless friends. Doug's family will receive friends at T.J. McGOWAN SONS FUNERAL HOME, 71 N. Central Highway, GARNERVILLE, on Sunday, February 5, 2017 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM, and Monday, February 6 from 10-11 AM. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Monday, February 6 at the funeral home, with interment to follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Stony Point. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Doug's name to the American Diabetes Association.
