Obituary of Micheal J Hayes

Michael J. Hayes of Stony Point passed away peacefully with his family by his side on May 11, 2017. Mike was born on February 21, 1937 to James & Helen (Crawford) Hayes. Mike proudly served his country in the US Navy during the Korean War. He married the love of his life Mary Rogers on October 8, 2000. He worked as a supervisor for Local 2 in the Window Washers Union in New York City for over 30 years. Mike was a life member and past house chairman of the Haverstraw Elks and was also a member of the Leo Ladders American Legion. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and swimming in Naples Florida. Mike is predeceased by his stepson Vincent Lyons, his granddaughter Brianna Rodriquez his two daughters Judith & Ann, his two brothers & five sisters. Mike is survived by his loving wife Mary of Stony Point, his beloved children Christine Hayes Rodriquez and her husband James of West Haverstraw, Lynn Hayes & her finance Joseph Burkert of Stony Point, Mary Hayes Bosworth and her husband Jack of Stony Point, Stephen Hayes and his wife Jenny of Naples Fla, his stepdaughter Sue Stalter and her husband Kenneth of Woodbourne, NY, his cherished 9 grandsons, 2 granddaughters, his adored 2 great granddaughters and 1 great grandson. The family will receive friends & relatives on Monday May 15th from 4 - 8 PM at the TJ McGowan Sons Funeral Home 71 N. Central Highway Garnerville, NY. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated for Michael on Tuesday May 16th at 10AM at Immaculate Conception Church in Stony Point with Interment to follow in St Peters Cemetery in Haverstraw. The Haverstraw Elks will conduct services at 7 PM. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Michael's name to The Juvenile Diabetes Foundation 830 Broad St Suite 2 Shrewsbury, NJ 07702 or The Brianna Rodriquez Scholarship Fund at the North Rockland High School.
