Obituary of Christopher P O'Connell

Christopher O'Connell a lifetime resident of Haverstraw died Friday May 12, 2017. Chris was born August 3, 1929 in Haverstraw to the late Christopher and Sue (Lagano) O'Connell. Chris Proudly served in the Army. He was life member of the Havestraw Elks Lodge 877 and Cosgriff Hose Co. #4. Chris work for Letchworth Village for many years. He is survived by his brother Edward of Stony Point and Richard of Melbourne Florida, his nieces Diane Way of Haverstraw and Cathleen McCloskey of Blauvelt. He is predeceased by his sister Sharon Way and nephew Billy Way. He is also survived by his companion Janet Storms. Friends are invited to visit on Tuesday May 16th at the T.J. McGowan Sons Funeral Home 133 Broadway Haverstraw from 7 - 9 PM. Chris's Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday May 17th at 10 Am in St. Peter's Mary's Church. Burial will follow at the Frederick W. Loescher Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Haverstraw Elks Services will be on Tues at 7 PM, Cosgriff Hose Fire Co. Firematic services will be on Tues. at 7:30 PM
