Obituary of Virginia Guelcher
Virginia Guelcher, age 82, of Garnerville went home to the Lord on July 5th. Virginia was born in the Bronx, NY to her loving parents, Edward and Natalie French. She was a loving woman, who had a strong love of God and family, and a deep devotion to our Blessed Mother. She worked as a lead hairstylist in the Bronx, and married the love of her life, Albert Guelcher in 1956. They were to celebrate their 60th anniversary this past October. Virginia, and her family, moved to Garnerville in 1967. She was a bus driver in Rockland County for over 30 years. She was a member of St. Gregory Barbarigo Parish, The Columbiettes, The Red Hats, and Town of Haverstraw Senior Citizens, prior to her illness. She was also a former member of RCIA at St. Gregory Barbarigo Parish.
She is pre-deceased by her huband Albert (2016) , her brother Howard, her brother-in-laws Harold and Walter Guelcher, Albert Aliberti, and Dennis Purcell; also sister-in-laws, Florence (Guelcher) Rosinski and her husband John, and Lillian(Guelcher) Ryan and her husband Edmund, as well as her nephew Robert Rosinski.
She is survived by her three daughters, Carol Erdely (Joe), AnnMarie Weber (Herbert) and Catherine Gecosky, all of whom she adored. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kristyn, Joseph, Brittany, Emily, Madeline and Angelica and great-granddaughter Citlaly. She was very proud of being "Grandma"!
She is also survived by her dear sisters Muriel Aliberti and Arlene Purcell, her brother-in-law Arthur Guelcher and his wife Doris, sister-in-laws Pat and Flo Guelcher, as well as brother-in-law Robert Guelcher. Also many wonderful nieces and nephews.
The Funeral Arrangements are under the Care of T.J McGowan Sons Funeral Home 71N Central Highway Garnerville NY, the family will be receiving relatives and friends on Friday, July 7th from 2pm till 4pm and 7pm till 9pm.
A mass of Christian burial will be held at St Gregory Barbarigo RC Church 21 Cinder Rd Garnerville NY at 10am on Saturday July 8th.
Immediately following the Mass, Virginia will be laid to rest at the Fredrick W. Loescher Veterans Cemetery in New Hempstead New York,
