I was very sad to read that Doug has passed away. I got to know him when he was Highway Superintendent. He was a pleasure to work with and I considered him a friend.
Condolences to his family.
RIP Doug.

It has been an honor and a privilege to know Douglas Jobson as my friend and also as a member and leader in the Trinity United Methodist Church of Stony Point where it has been my opportunity to serve, as his pastor, for the past eleven years. The even greater honor was for our congregation to have known and worked alongside with him. Doug participated over most of his 85 years of life in the ministry and the life of our church family, from his childhood until last year when he eased back due to his health issues. It was clear to me that he was a sincere man of faith.
Doug was one of the most generous persons I have ever known when giving of his time and service. He was a proverbial “pillar” of our church, who at one time or another accepted a variety of leadership role. He served faithfully. Most telling about how Doug was viewed, loved and respected was the number of persons from in the church and the community who referred to him as the “Face of Trinity United Methodist Church.”
Service was clearly a central theme in Doug’s life. The length and breadth of his service to town, county and country is breathtaking. And the variety of roles and offices he served in each of those jurisdictions is striking. It is not surprising that his friends, his peers, his fellow church members and the voting public all chose to appoint, elect and entrust him with this wide range responsibilities to serve. They all recognized him for the good man that he was. And he earned and deserved the trust that people placed in him.
On behalf of the church and myself, we offer our sincere condolences to June, Doug’s loving spouse of 58 years. June, we thank you for sharing Doug with us. And we will be praying for you and your sons Douglas and Jason as you go through this time of mourning. We mourn and grieve with you. May the Lord bless you and keep you in the days ahead.

Doug was a true gentleman and I have known him my whole life. He didn't care what political party you belonged to, He liked everyone. Sending many prayers to June, Doug and Jason. May he RIP.
