Obituary of Elizabeth J. Ryan

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Elizabeth J. Ryan (affectionally known as Betty), of Garnerville, New York.  Betty passed away on June 10, 2022, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. 

Betty was born in the Bronx, New York on May 10, 1939 to Michael and Bridget Feehan.  She started her career at Horn & Hardart where she made many lifelong friends.  Betty was a school bus driver for Haverstraw Transit Bus Company for over 25 years.  She married the love of her life, Donald, on April 20, 1963.  They moved to Garnerville in 1968 where they raised their four daughters.  Betty was a member of the Altar & Rosary Society at St. Gregory Barbarigo Parish and volunteered many hours at the school.  She loved spending time with family and friends, especially when they took trips to Atlantic City, NJ where odds were on her to beat the house.

She will be missed by all who knew her.  Betty was predeceased by her beloved husband, Donald.  She is survived by her daughters: Ann Marie, Kerri Ann, Suzanne, and Janet Bridget.  She is also survived by her brother Jack Feehan (Marie) of Myrtle Beach, SC, as well as her cherished niece Tara, who will never forget the spirited games of left-right-center with ABFR, and her treasured nephews Brian (Kerry), Dennis, and grandnephew Shane.

Family will receive friends on Sunday, June 19, 2022 from 3pm-7pm at TJ McGowan Sons Funeral Home, 71 N. Central Highway, Garnerville, NY.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, June 20, 2022, 11am, at St. Gregory’s Church, Garnerville. Interment will be held on Tuesday, June 21st, 2022 11am at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Betty's name can be made to The Alzheimer's Association – Hudson Valley Chapter, 2649 South Rd.
