Obituary of William T. Cruger

William T. Cruger, 77, of West Haverstraw, passed away on May 20, 2020. He was born in the Bronx on December 21, 1942. William served in the Navy from 1961 to 1965 on the USS Yosemite AD-19. He was married to Alexis Scunda on November 18, 1967. They shared 52 wonderful years together. William worked as a control technician for the majority of his career retiring after 32 years. He was a member of the Elks Lodge Post #877 and the American Legion Post #1600. William also had a passion for boating, golfing, hunting, and camping. He always looked forward to his monthly lunch and coffee outings with his friends. He is survived by his sons, Michael (Lisa), William Jr. (Sherry), Brian (Melissa) and 8 grandchildren (Christopher, Tyler, Darren, Ryan, Megan, Zach, Allison, Aryana, and great grandson, Noah). William will be deeply missed by his brother, Charlie, and sisters Mary, Ruth, and Jane, plus several nieces and nephews. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, family members will have a private ceremony and a memorial mass will be held at a later date.
