Obituary of Kathleen M. Delle Chiaie (Girard)

Kathleen Delle Chiaie (Vient) formerly Kathy Girard died peacefully at Joe Raso Hospice House on December 27, 2019 in New City, New York at age 79.

Kathy is survived by her loving husband, Charles Delle Chiaie of Stony Point, NY; his son Fred Delle Chiaie and fiancée Beth Cornwell of Fairlawn, NJ and Kathy’s 4 children, Marilyn Girard Mills and husband, Stuart of Manchester, NH, Stephen Girard of Las Vegas, NV, Paul Girard and fiancée Lori McLaughlin of Suffern, NY, Kathleen (Girard) Doyle and husband Brian of New Windsor, NY. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Stephen Girard of Quincy, MA. She was a loving Nana to Joseph, Sean, Elena, Matthew, Carl, Connor, Christopher and Jake.  She was the dear sister of William, Jeanne, Phyllis, Madelyn, Winona, Mary Lou, Alice, Marjorie, Walter, Berneice, Carolyn and Suzanne. She is also survived by more than 50 nieces and nephews.

Kathy was born on August 12, 1940 in Quincy, MA to Noel and Marjorie (Vickers) Vient. She graduated from Quincy, HS in 1958. She married her first husband in 1961 and started a family. After relocating to West Haverstraw, NY in 1968, Kathy began working in various occupations, most notably as an Executive Assistant at MRC and TexWipe Corporations. She met her 2^nd husband Charles in 1990 and were married for 15 years residing in Stony Point. They had a busy social life and created happy memories with friends and family during their years together.

Kathy enjoyed the outdoors swimming and hiking. She enjoyed ice skating with her grandchildren at Bear Mountain rink at Christmas time, September bike rides with Charlie on Cape Cod. She enjoyed theater and took her children to Broadway many times. She had a generous heart and often showed her love by writing and sending greeting, birthday and “ thinking of you” cards to family and friends. She enjoyed many friendships over the years and will not be forgotten. She belonged to the Elks ladies Club Lodge 877.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday, January 2, 2020 from 4-8PM at TJ McGowan Sons Funeral Home, 133 Broadway, Haverstraw, NY.

 A funeral mass will be held for Kathy at the Immaculate Conception Church 26 John St, Stony Point, NY on Friday, January 3 at 10 AM followed by the interment at Ascension Cemetery, 650 Saddle River Rd, Airmont, NY.
