Obituary of Anilda McSharar
Anilda (Rabatin) McSharar, of Garnerville, passed away on March 27, 2019. She was 88.
Anilda was born in Haverstraw in 1930. She went to St. Peter's School, and Haverstraw High School. On June 14, 1953, she married the love of her life, Thomas P. McSharar Jr. in St. Peter's Church. They moved to Garnerville where they raised their seven children. Anilda's pride and joy in life was her family, and scratchies. Anilda loved to travel, especially to Atlantic City. She was a member of the West Haverstraw Seniors for many years.
Anilda is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years, Thomas; her seven children: Jim (Janet), Mary, Tom (Cindy), Joe (Lorraine), Dennis (Margaret), John (Peggy), and Frank (Janet); her 12 cherished grandchildren: Traviss, Kerri (Chris), Cailyn (Allison), Garrett (Tanya), Kyle, Colin, Brigette (Pat), Jennifer, Lindsey, Patrick, Sean and Kacey; her seven great-grandchildren; her two sisters: Kathleen Mancuso and Joan Palkovic; her brother Edward "Buzz" (Barbara) Rabatin, and by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Anilda is predeceased by her brother Joseph (Germaine) Rabatin; brothers-in-law: Michael Mancuso, Michael Palkovic, and Francis (Mildred) McSharar, sister-in-law Mary (Richard) Curran, and her parents.
Anilda's family will receive friends and relatives at T.J. MCGOWAN SONS FUNERAL HOME, 133 Broadway, Haverstraw, on Thursday, March 28, 2019 from 6-9 PM, and Friday, March 29, from 4-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Anilda on Saturday, March 30 at 10 AM at St. Peter's Church in Haverstraw, with a private cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, friends who wish may donate in Anilda's memory to St. Peter's & St. Mary's Church, 115 Broadway, Haverstraw, NY 10927.
