Obituary of Gerald M Kilduff

Gerald M. Kilduff of Tomkins Cove, NY, a much loved husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother - in-law, uncle and friend passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 1, 2017. Gerald was born in New York on February 8, 1936 to the late Patrick and Delia (nee Carney) Kilduff. He was raised and educated in the Bronx. In 1969, he married Ann Marie Hanlon. He moved to Tomkins Cove in 1973 where he raised his children and spent wonderful years with family & friends. Gerald served in the U.S. Army for 2 years . He then began his career as a proud member of the New York City Police Department, retiring in 1977 after 20 years of service. Gerald then began his banking career which lasted 31 years, ultimately retiring from Union State Bank as a Senior Vice President. Gerald was a parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church in Stony Point, where he was a Eucharistic Minister and a member of the Men's Club. He belonged to the NYPD Holy Name Society, PBA, Rockland County Shields, Hudson Valley 10-13 and the Knights of Columbus, Council 581. Gerald was a man of strong faith. He was always there to help anyone and was a good friend to all. His greatest pleasure was being with his family whom he loved and cherished so much. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years Ann Marie, his adored children Patrick and Kim Kilduff, Joanne Wells, Tara and Ryan Briganti, and his cherished grandchildren David and Matthew Kilduff, Alexandra and Christopher Wells, Emma, Lily and Jack Briganti. He is also survived by his loving siblings Winifred Hughes (Joseph), Veronica Walsh, Thomas, Joseph (Margaret), Regina Lennon and sister-in-law Bernadette Kilduff, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins & friends. Gerald was predeceased by his parents Delia & Patrick and brothers John (Helen), James, Patrick (Margaret) , sisters Mary Carton (Thomas), Joan, brothers-in-law Raymond Walsh and Francis Lennon. The Family will receive friends & relatives on Thursday Oct. 5th from 4-9 PM at the TJ McGowan Sons Funeral Home, 71 N. Central Highway Garnerville, NY. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Gerald on Friday Oct 6th at 10 AM at The Immaculate Conception Church on John Street in Stony Point with Interment to follow in The Ascension Cemetery in Airmont, NY. The family would like to thank the wonderful nursing & CNA staff at Northern Manor 3rd Floor & The Joe Raso Hospice Residence who guided us along this difficult journey with love and compassion. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Gerald's Memory to the Joe Raso Hospice Residence, United Hospice of Rockland 11 Stokum Lane New City, NY 10956.
