Obituary of Dominic J. Colleluore, Sr.

Dominic Colleluore, 88, of Stony Point, NY, peacefully passed away on January 26, 2024. He was born in Nyack, New York on August 11, 1935 to Dominic and Margaret (Call) Colleluori. He is survived by his son, Dominic Colleluore and wife, Michelle and their children: Jillian Beyers (Bradley), Daniel Colleluore, and Dominic Colleluore. His daughter, Donna Philips and her children: Veronica, Thomas, and Kimberly. Along with 3 great grandchildren. His brother Joseph Colleluore (Dorothy). He was predeceased by his twin brother, Johnny and 2 sisters, Concetta and Annie.

Dominic, otherwise known by “Pop Dom” or “Duke,” was a staple of the North Rockland community. He would strike up a conversation and make friends with everyone he met. He made everyone smile, as he always had a joke to tell. He never missed an opportunity to tell you how proud he was of his family. He enjoyed hiking and walking the grounds of the Marine Shrine. He loved pizza, jelly beans and absolutely loved Sunday drives with his son exploring new restaurants and coffee shops. He served for the United States Army, in the Airborne Division and spent time overseas. When he returned home, he worked for Orange and Rockland for 25 years. During retirement, he enjoyed the simple things in life. He loved to read, do crossword puzzles, and spending time in nature. He had an eclectic taste in music. He loved 50s music, classic rock and surprisingly enough, old school hip-hop.

Visitation will be held at TJ McGowan Sons Funeral Home, 71 N. Central Highway, Garnverville, NY on Tuesday, January 30th from 4 – 8pm. A private burial will take place on Wednesday morning.
