Obituary of Robert Roland

Robert B. Roland, of Stony Point, NY, passed away peacefully at the age of 75 on November 12, 2023, with his wife, step daughter and sister in law at his side. Bob was born in Manhattan on October 18, 1948. Bob was predeceased by his Dad, Fred Roland, his mom, Marian Roland and brother Fred Roland.

He is survived by his wife, Vicky L. Atkins-Roland, stepdaughter, Shannon Goldberg & her husband Dennis, grandaughters, Cassidy & Hailey, 3 brothers, 3 sisters, numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews. Also survived by Lee Ditringo, his "brother from another mother". 

Bob served in the US Army, was a member of the Haverstraw Elks Lodge for 35 years, drove for the Haverstraw ambulance corp and serviced the ambulances at Roland's Mobil which he owned and operated in Haverstraw. He spent his last working years in the security field at retail locations, Caldors, Kohls and Marshalls and then retired from the North Rockland Central School District security team in December 2020. 

Bob loved working in his yard and vegetable garden, riding his Goldwings, and then his Spyder with Vicky and spending time with his African Grey, Rocky, and his cats. Bob was a very good cook, always trying to improve on a restaurant meal. 

Family will celebrate Bob's life Thursday November 16 at TJ McGowan Sons Funeral Home in Garnerville from 4-8pm. Friday a mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Church in Stony Point at  10 am.
