Obituary of Patrick E kENNELL

Patrick E. Kennell 86, of Stony Point, NY passed away suddenly on Feb. 22, 2014. He was born on Feb. 5, 1928 in Brooklyn, NY to Augustine & Anna Lokaitas Kennell .Patrick married the love of his life Rose Mannetta on May 2, 1954 in St. Francis Apollo Church in Brooklyn. In 1953 Patrick Joined the NYPD and in 1990 he retired after 38 years, when he retired he was a sgt. in the 25th precinct in East Harlem. Pat was an avid baseball fan & sportsman who played Baseball for the Brooklyn Dodgers farm team. He also enjoyed salt water fishing. Pat was a member of the Haverstraw Elks, Holy Name Society, Rockland County Shields, The NYC Sgt. Benevolent Assoc. and he was active in St. Gregory Barbarigo Church. Besides his parents he is predeceased by his brother Thomas Kennell.Pat is survived by the love of his life his wife Rose of Stony Point, his loving children Patrick and his wife Cheryl of Stony Point, Richard and his wife Brenda of North Carolina, Peter & his daughter Kimberly of Florida, Karen & her husband George Richardson of Florida, Regina & her husband David Stoddard of Tomkins Cove, Kenneth & his wife Katie of Tenn. His cherished 19 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and his adored 2 great great grandchildren. Also surviving are Pats two sisters Dorles Cummings of Shoreham, LI and Susan Hellten of Wading River, NY, along with numerous nieces and nephews. The Family will receive relatives & friends on Thursday Feb 27th from 7-9 PM and Friday Feb 28th from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the TJ McGowan & Son's Funeral Home 71 N. Central Highway, Garnerville. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated for Patrick on Sat March 1st at 10 AM at the church of St. Gregory Barbarigo with entombment to follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery in Nanuet.
