Obituary of Thomas J. Robinson
Thomas John Robinson, 77, of Stony Point, NY passed away peacefully on Friday, April 7, 2023. He was born in the Bronx, NY on January 4, 1946 to John and Louise (nee Schackner) Robinson. He graduated from Cardinal Spellman High School and married his childhood sweetheart, Joyce Jakubowski, on November 16, 1968. Tom worked for over 30 years as a Lieutenant with the FDNY. Known as Lt. Robbie, he spent the first 10+ years of his career in the South Bronx with 49 Truck and the final 20 + years on the Upper East Side with 13 Truck. He also proudly served his country as a Master Sergeant in the Army National Guard, retiring after 20 years of service. In 1973, they moved to Stony Point, NY to expand their family. Tom spent many years coaching Stony Point Little League. He was very involved in his church, Immaculate Conception, where he was an usher and served in various positions with the Mens Club. He was a member of the Havestraw Elks Club and the Knights of Columbus. He took much pride in his family andenjoyed every minute with his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He is predeceased by Joyce, his wife of almost 54 years. He is survived by his children Tracy (Anthony) Albanese, Tom (Lori) Robinson, Joe (Kristen Wicks) Robinson, Debra (Dennis) Stoll and Craig (Jessica) Robinson; his 9 grandchildren Anthony, Taylor and Danny Albanese, Matthew, Mackenzie, Austin and Riley Stoll, and CJ and Jake Robinson; his siblings Patricia Hudson and Rob (Silvia) Robinson; and his in-laws June and Joseph (Judy) Jakubowski. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 12, from 3pm - 8pm at TJ McGowan Sons Funeral Home in Garnerville, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, April 13, 10am at Immaculate Conception Church in Stony Point, NY, followed by interment at Fred Loescher Veterans Cemetery, Spring Valley, NY. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the New York Firefighters Burn Center Foundation (nyffburncenter.com).
