Obituary of Catherine L. Peterson

Catherine Lillian Peterson, 85, of Stony Point passed away peacefully on January 2, 2023. She was born on October 20, 1937 in Stony Point to Claude & Della (Conklin) Babcock. She married the love of her life, Ronald Peterson, on June 9, 1956 in St. Peter's Church. Catherine enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, baking, illustrating personalized holiday cards and creating beautiful paper quilled projects. She spread much happiness, kindness and love to all of her family and friends. Catherine is survived by her loving husband Ronald Peterson, children Maryellen (Miklos) Solyom, Ronald (Ann) Peterson, Karen (Donald) Toscano and Brian (Rochelle) Peterson. She cherished her 11 grandchildren and adored her 8 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her caring brothers Kenneth and Alfred Babcock and her sister Jeanette Strassburg as well as numerous nieces & nephews. The family will receive friends & relatives on January 7^th from 9:00 am - 10:30 am at TJ McGowan Sons Funeral Home, 71 N. Central Highway, Garnerville, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Catherine at 11:00am at St. Gregory Barbarigo Church, Garnerville, with interment to follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Haverstraw, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to United Hospice of Rockland or to The Alzheimer’s Foundation.
