Obituary of Anthony D. DeCoro, Jr.

Anthony Dominick DeCoro Jr. of Stony Point, NY entered into eternal rest on Thursday  October 6, 2022. Anthony AKA husband, dad, ‘T2’  was 65 when he left from this life. The son of Carmen and Anthony DeCoro, was born in the Bronx on September 13, 1957. Anthony worked as a supervisor in Manhattan for many years. Anthony also proudly protected New York City working as an NYPD officer for 20 years. Right up until his passing, Anthony took great pride in reminiscing and telling stories of his time as an officer. He always had his NYPD hats displayed, especially in the back window of his car. He truly loved the time he spent on the force.

Anthony wouldn’t go a day without turning on his radio. You could hear him coming down the street, that’s how loud he played it. He loved everything from classic rock to Frank Sinatra to sports talk radio. Anthony also cared deeply for Carlo and Mario, the shelties of the family. He enjoyed taking them on car rides to run errands, to the park, and on walks.

Anthony married the love of his life Heidi in 1984. The two celebrated 38 loving years together this past August 25th. In addition to being a devoted husband, Anthony was an amazing father to Christopher and Stephanie. He loved them with all his heart. Anthony also had great love for his brother Stephen, sister Debbie, brother-in-law Frank, sister-in law Andrea, cousin Cynthia, godmother Rosalie, nieces Gabrielle, Mariel, and nephew Anthony. He also had great love for all those who have predeceased him, Anthony’s mother Carmen, father Anthony Sr, Aunt Rose, and cousin Donna.

Besides displaying his love of God, family, Jets and the Mets, Anthony loved food! Anthony made sure to get in his 3 meals a day. He loved his Sunday dinner… pasta with extra meatballs! Of course he’d finish it off with some dessert, preferably a chocolate chip cookie or some of the famous chocolate chip cake created by grandma Filomena and often made by his sister Debbie.

Anthony’s remarkable life and his beautiful legacy of selflessness and love will be celebrated on October 12th, 10 am at Immaculate Conception Church in Stony Point followed by cremation at Ferncliff Crematory Chapel, Hartsdale, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the United Hospice of Rockland.
