Obituary of Joseph P. D'Urso

Joseph D’Urso passed away peacefully with family by his side on May 4th, 2022. He was 81 years old. Joe was born in New York City on January 19, 1941 to Louise and Jack D’Urso and grew up in Dumont, NJ. He married the love of his life, Phyllis on October 3, 1964. Joe had a career in drafting and purchasing for Westfalia Separator (Centrico) in Northvale, NJ for many years. He also served in the Army National Guard for six years and was a eucharistic minister at St. Anthony’s Church in Northvale, NJ. 

Joe was happiest spending time with his children and grandchildren but also enjoyed classic cars, traveling, playing the lottery, and following his favorite baseball team, the New York Yankees. 

Joe is survived by his beloved wife, Phyllis, and their four children, Dina and her husband John McKenna, Nancy and her husband Steven DeVico, Joseph and his wife Mary, and Kristin and her partner Jonathan Ziegel. He will be greatly missed by his seven cherished grandchildren John, Anthony, Ryan, Lauren, Joey, Max, and Liam and his loving sister, Mary Lou of Sunrise, Florida. 

Family will receive friends on Monday from 2pm – 4pm and 7pm – 9pm at TJ McGowan Sons Funeral Home, 71 N. Central Highway, Garnerville, NY. Mass will be held on Tuesday, 11am, at St. Gregory Barbarigo Church, Garnerville. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association.
