Obituary of Olga "Cookie" Blaschke

Olga Blaschke (nee:Pusdrofski) passed away peacefully on January 20, 2022. She was 94 years old. Olga or Cookie as she known by her family and friends was born in New York City on November 11, 1927.

Our Mom was a unique and amazing woman and one of the hardest workers that we have ever known. As a young girl in the Depression, she worked at a pencil factory to help support her family. When she was in her early 20’s, she met her future husband and the love of her life, Johnny, who she married on October 14, 1950.

She raised 5 children and was always there to help with all of her grandchildren. She made our clothes, our meals, crocheted afghans and made our house a home. She was famous for her baked goods and pierogi. She loved to travel as well. She was a parishioner of St. Gregory Catholic Church in Garnerville for 54 years and was a member of their adoration devotion group.

Mom was a very giving person, was very resourceful and had a great sense of humor. Everyone, old and young, who got to know Mom loved her. She made people laugh and that was her gift to all.

We were so very lucky to have her for 94 years and thankful that all of us were able to be by her side in her final days. We are grateful for the wonderful example of motherhood she was to all of us. We are also grateful to know that she can now be with our father, Johnny, because she missed him so much since his passing in 1983.

She is survived by her 5 children; Barbara Sullwold (Kent), John Blaschke (Susan), Debra Tomicich (Edward), Robert Blaschke (fiancée Theresa French) and Dr. Linda Blaschke-Doty (Ben). She is also survived by her grandchildren; Brian (Michelle), Kevin (January) and Kyle (Amanda) Sullwold ; John Christopher (Rachel), Kimberly (fiancé Anastasios Papagnou) and Jeffrey (Katarina Acuna) Blaschke; Noelle (John Anderson), John Edward (Maddy Mulcahy) and Daniel Tomicich (EOD2, US Navy); and Benjamin, Jack, and Samuel (deceased) Doty. Also survived by great granddaughter, Madison Sullwold.
