I worked with John for many years at Pearson and immediately upon meeting him saw that he exuded a large presence and everyone knew him. He had many admirable qualities, was honest and stood by his solid values and integrity. You could always count on John to give you a grounded answer, provide help and guidance when you needed it and not ever mince words. He did not have patience for ambiguity or lack of hard work. I had several sushi lunches with John, and he spoke fondly and cared deeply about his family. My earlier and fondest memory was of John bringing breakfast to Bob DeRoma who happened to be under the weather one morning. That was when I knew that although John may have had a gruff exterior at times, there was sweet and compassionate man at the core.
My sincerest condolences to John's family.

I never had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Del Negro. However I feel like
I did after conversations with Sue at work in PST. He imparted many
good qualities in Sue and his grandsons. My heart goes out to Barbara
and the family.

John was a great man and will truly be missed as he left his impression on so many of us in his lifetime.
I worked with and for John at Pearson for many years and affectionately called him Grumpy rather than John when we were together. Folks that knew him and worked with him know why but all in a good way for his nickname.
John was my mentor and taught me a great deal about business and how to treat people, and leadership but most off all he was my friend.
We also played a lot of golf together and those times I can say were some of the most fun I can remember with Him.
Playing golf with John through the good shots and bad shots listening to his stories will always be in my heart.
Also eating lunch at work with John was always an adventure for no matter how careful he was , he always managed to get food on his shirt or his Tie .
John all I can say to you is thank you for being you....... for what you taught me in life
Forever greatfull
