Obituary of Nora Conklin

Nora Conklin, age 73, passed away at home on November 21, 2021. Nora was a long-time resident of Stony Point, NY.  She was born and raised in Bronx, NY, but loved living in Stony Point.  She was preceded in death by her parents Isabella (Donivan) Edington, Alfred Edington her son, Clyde Paul Lawrence, her brothers Bobby, Donald and her twin, Kenny Edington. Nora married the love of her life, Lenard H. Conklin, on August 6, 1988 at their home in Stony Point, where he still resides.  

She is survived by her two daughters, Nora-Ann (David) Beach of San Francisco, CA, Michelle Troisi of DuBois, PA and her two grandsons, Mark Joseph Troisi and Nicholas Troisi.  She is also survived by her sister Jane (Fred) DeLorenzo.

Additionally, Nora is survived by her many sisters and brother in-laws, nieces, nephews, extended family members and special friends who we consider part of our family.  Nora’s husband Lenard and her daughter Michelle, would like to thank all of the caring family members and friends who stepped in with loving support during her illness.

Nora had a long career working at the US Postal Service including offices in Park Ridge, NJ, West Haverstraw, NY, and Congers, NY.  She also worked as a cafeteria worker at the North Rockland High School, after retiring from the Postal Service.  

Nora was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Stony Point for many years. She developed a keen interest in geneaology and enjoyed researching and tracing her familial roots.

There will be a memorial wake on December 3, 2021 at T.J. McGowan Sons Funeral Home from 2-4pm & 6-8pm. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 4, 11:00am at the First United Methodist Church in Stony Point. We ask all attendees to be Covid conscious. In consideration of immunocompromised guests, we respectfully request guests be masked at all times while inside the funeral home.
