Obituary of Brendan J. Gaynor
Brendan Gaynor, of Stony Point, New York, passed away on December 5th, 2020 after a short illness. He was 62 years old. Brendan was born in the Bronx, NY but lived most of his life in Stony Point. He attended St Gregory Barbarigo grammar school and Albertus Magnus High School, places where he met many of his life-long friends. He was a sports enthusiast and a dedicated NY Mets and Islanders fan. He was known as Uncle Brenny to his seven nieces and nephews; Allison, Brian, Kevin, Linda, Matt, Nick and Shannon. Brendan always made time to help teach any of them how to pitch a softball, hit a curveball or catch a football. He insisted however that no backyard games would start until all their homework assignments were completed. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his son Ryan and Susan Berwick as well as six brothers and sisters; Maureen (Tom Wright), Eileen (Mullin), Jimmy (Maureen), John, Greg (Laura), and Brian (Kristen). He is also survived by his father John. His mother, Mary, passed in 2015. Services will be held at TJ McGowan Sons Funeral Home in Garnerville, NY on Tuesday, December 8th from 4:00pm – 8:00pm. Mass will be held on Wednesday, December 9th at St. Gregory Barbarigo Church in Garnerville at 11:00am, followed by interment at Ascension Cemetery, Airmont, NY.
