Obituary of Martha J. McGill

Martha J. McGill, 90, passed away peacefully at home on November 12th in the presence of her loving family. Born in Akron, OH, to parents Leonard & Giulia Lungaro, Martha was an identical twin. Shortly after Martha’s mother passed away at the young age of 24, the twins went to live with their Grandparents whom loved and raised them. Martha was a 3rd degree Order Carmelite, a devout Catholic, often playing the keyboard during mass at St. Gregory's Barbarigo RC Church and always attended the outdoor mass at the Marian Shrine with her beloved twin sister. Martha and Mary were always together and rarely did they separate from each other. Everyone fondly called them the "Marino twins". Martha is predeceased by her beloved twin, Mary Lungaro, Grandparents Leo & Mary Marino, her Parents Leonard & Giulia, Brother Charles Lungaro, Aunts Catherine Maiorano and Ann Sarno, and Uncles Joseph, Leonard, and Leo Marino. She is survived by her Son James (Kelly) McGill, Daughter Julia (Angelo) Schembari, Grandchildren Leah, Curtis, Troy, James, Devin, Grace and Great-Grandchildren Thomas, Madelyn, Kora, Logan and Cooper; Also numerous cousins. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Hermits of St. Mary of Carmel, 33005 Stinson Ridge Road, Houston, MN 55943. Family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, November 16th, from 4-8pm at TJ McGowan Sons Funeral Home, 71 N. Central Highway, Garnerville, NY 10923. Masks and social distancing required at the funeral home and rotation is in effect. A Mass of Christian Burial and will be held at Saint Gregory's Barbarigo RC Church in Garnerville, NY on Tuesday, November 17th at 11 AM. Immediately following the mass, Martha will be laid to rest at Saint Peter's Cemetery in Haverstraw, NY.
