Obituary of Robert J. Penteck

Robert J. Penteck, (Bobby) of Westbury, NY, passed away peacefully on October 8, 2020 after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease and Diabetes. He was 80 years old. He was born on March 13, 1940 the ninth child in a family of 12 children. He is predeceased by his loving parents Mary and William Penteck, sisters Catherine, Mildred, Elizabeth, Mary and brothers Edward, William, John and Arthur and nieces Catherine and Ellen. He is survived by sisters Edith Griffin, Eleanor Flaherty (Desmond) and Carol Gaida and 25 nieces and nephews. Bobby attended Cardinal Hayes H.S. and St. John’s University graduating as a CPA. He worked as an accountant for many years in different agencies until he was forced to retire due to his illnesses. Bobby was an avid sportsman. He loved fishing outings with his nephews and friends, attending professional Hockey & Basketball games and joining bowling leagues. Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, October 19th, 11am, at St. Gregory Barbarigo Church, 25 Cinder Road, Garnerville, NY 10923. Burial of Ashes to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 10 W. Stevens Ave, Hawthorne, NY 10532.
