Obituary of John Bazzini

John Bazzini, 72, of Haverstraw, NY died Wednesday, January, 8, 2020 at the Joe Raso Hospice Residence, after a short battle with cancer.

Born in New York, NY to John and Angelina Bazzini, John was raised in the Bronx, NY and attended DeWitt Clinton High School. 

He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the First Cavalry Division of the U.S. Army. After returning from war, John met and married the love of his life, Florence Carro, and settled together in the Bronx, raising their two daughters, Donna and Lisa. 

John worked for Consolidated Edison for 29 years, retiring in 2002. After retiring, he enjoyed casual days and looked forward to annual family vacations to Aruba. 

John is survived by his wife of 46 years, Florence, their two daughters: Donna Mott (Christopher) and Lisa Lopez (Victor), and two sisters: Carol Reda (Vincenzo) and Mary DelleBovi. He also leaves behind four grandchildren: Angelina and William Mott, and Vincent and Anthony Lopez.

The family will be receiving friends and family on Sunday, January 12, 2-5PM and 7-9PM at TJ McGowan Sons Funeral Home, 71 N. Central Highway, Garnerville, NY 10923.

A celebration of John’s life will be held at 10:30AM, Monday, January 13, at St. Gregory Barbarigo Church, Garnerville, NY. Interment to follow at Mt. Repose Cemetery, Haverstraw, NY.
