Obituary of Patricia Ann Ricker

Patricia Ann (Patti) Ricker, of Stony Point, passed away on September 24, 2019, surrounded by her loving family at the Joe Raso Hospice Residence in New City, NY.

Patti was born September 4, 1939 to Francis and Blanche (Millen) Craven. She grew up in Garnerville with her beloved younger siblings Frank and Kimberly. Patti was proud of her North Rockland roots and was an active member of the community.

Patti graduated from North Rockland High School in 1956. She attended SUNY New Paltz and then began her career within the North Rockland School District. She was the guidance department secretary and then became the administrative assistant to the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction. Patti retired from the North Rockland School District in 1993.

Patti is survived by her loving husband and constant companion of 59 years, James E. Ricker Sr. She is also survived by and will be dearly missed by her son James E. Ricker Jr. and daughter-in-law Christine of Monroe, and grandchildren Matthew and Brianna, sibling Frank Craven and his fiancée Deborah Samora and brother-in-law Nick Fondacaro. Survivors also include several nieces and nephews as well as many dear friends and extended family. Patti was predeceased by her mother Blanche, father Frank and sister Kimberly Fondacaro.

Patti adored her family and loved to cook and entertain with big family parties. She cherished her time traveling the east coast from Cape Cod, Lake George, North Carolina to Florida with her husband and son. She was an avid reader and could complete crossword puzzles in record time. She was kind, generous and protective of her loved ones.

Family and friends are invited to T.J. MCGOWAN SONS FUNERAL HOME, 71 N. Central Highway, GARNERVILLE, NY 10923 for visitation on Thursday, September 26, 2019 from 3-7PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church, 26 John Street, Stony Point NY 10980 on Friday, September 27 at 10AM. Interment to follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery, Route 9W, Haverstraw, NY 10927. In lieu of flowers, friends who wish may donate in Patti’s memory to the Joe Raso Hospice Residence, 415 Buena Vista Road, New City NY 10956.
